ALL ABOUT THE BEAN
At Ix Cacao Indica I use only the finest quality cacao, from select Estates & Co-operatives across the growing regions of India; Kerala, Tamil-Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh & Goa.
All my beans are sourced direct from individual, small acreage farmers, who take great care in each stage of it's cultivation; from harvesting to fermentation & drying.
All beans procured are grown pesticide free & in agro-forestry systems. They are fermented on site and sun-dried only.
The varieties grown in India are remnant mostly of unknown cultivars brought in by European & British settlers and later hybrids introduced to industrial farms and nurseries. However there is no accurate and proper mapping conducted of the varieties of cacao currently growing in India, in both older growing states (like Kerala & Goa) or more recent developers like Tamil-Nadu & Andhra-Pradesh.
So I call our cacao varieties Indian Origin as a generic term, and I am show casing each State that grows it by working with individual fine cocoa farmers from each growing region.

Our mission is to produce the best chocolate with ethically sourced, organic ingredients
Artisanal bean-to-bar “real” chocolate, made using Indian grown cacao beans and organic ingredients, with an endeavor to create a healthy and sustainable fine quality chocolate for the Indian market.
Using only natural ingredients, zero preservatives or emulsifiers, and sourcing directly from single origin, shade-grown estates to empower Indian farmers and ensure biodiversity.
In making bean-to-bar chocolate we by-pass major industrial and chemical processes and arrive at a healthier, more wholesome and tastier alternative to industrial candy bought in a store.
IxCacao Indica® is a Bean-to-bar Chocolate Smith (small-batch home-factory) and chocolate retailing business that is based in Goa, India. We intend to secure a suitable facility from where we will launch Goa’s first chocolate factory & store.
Apart from onsite sales and online sales we will also be putting our products out in well placed artisan kiosks at strategic locations around Goa and beyond.
